BASIC PHOTOGRAPHY TECHNIQUES THAT MUST BE LEARNED

Are you interested in Photography? If you are interested in exploring the world of Photography, and you are a beginner, you need to understand first, what is Photography and what are the techniques in doing Photography. So that you can master Photography.
Photography comes from the Greek language, namely Phos (light) and Graphien (Painting/writing). So if you look at the origin of the word, it can be concluded that Photography is the process of painting/writing using light media. So the method is to produce images/photos of an object by recording the reflection of light that hits the object on a light-sensitive medium. The media is a camera.
In order to get good and aesthetic light reflection quality when we take pictures, there are several basic techniques that you can learn and understand.
1. Framing or Composition
Composition can be interpreted as the arrangement of photos within the boundaries of one space. Framing and composition techniques are techniques for arranging visual elements in a frame to produce interesting and meaningful images
The Framing technique works by using the image object as a frame. While the Composition Technique works by arranging visual elements in a frame
The purpose of the Framing Technique is to make the object more interesting. While the Composition Technique is to guide the viewer’s view to the main subject
An example of the Framing Technique is Using the natural curves of trees, windows, or doors as a frame. While an Example of the Composition Technique is Using the Rule of Thirds, Leading Lines, or Negative Space techniques.
Here are some composition techniques that can be used in photography:
Rule of Thirds: Technique to create visual balance
Leading Lines: Technique to direct the viewer’s view to the main subject
Negative Space: Technique to provide empty space in the photo so that the subject stands out
The important elements that make up the composition in photography are lines, shapes, forms, textures, patterns, and colors.
2. Focus
In order for the photos you produce to look good, the objects you choose must look focused. A photographer must get used to shooting objects with focus even when under pressure. Currently, most camera lenses are equipped with the Auto Focus (AF) feature which can help you capture objects clearly and in focus.
3. Depth of Field
Depth of field (DOF) is the way the lens displays the depth of space based on the difference in the distance range of objects in producing variations in focus in the photo. This technique, the photos taken can have perfect sharpness and appear more prominent than the others.
If you use a modern camera, this DOF is very similar to the bokeh effect. So, there is only one object that is in focus and the results are sharp. Other objects behind it are generally blurred but not perfect.
The blur that surrounds the sharp photo must also have a good transition. So, the photo looks more natural. Therefore, taking photos manually by considering many aspects and factors is very important to learn.
4. Lighting
The next basic photography technique that you must learn is adjusting the lighting. The results of a photo are very much determined by the existing lighting. A good photo is a photo with the right lighting, not under, and over exposure
5. RAW Processing
The last basic photography technique that you must learn is RAW processing. This method refers to the technique of taking photos raw without going through the compression process. For those of you who don’t know, compression can reduce the quality of the photo so that the results obtained are not optimal.
Photos obtained from the RAW technique are actually a variable, so they need to go through a processing process. Therefore, so that the photo results can be of better quality, you can use special photography software to edit and process photos.
Photography is a fairly fun activity to do. You can make it a hobby and capture beautiful moments in your life in a photo frame. It turns out that photography is not only used as a hobby or pleasure. But it can also be used as an opportunity to make money 🙂
